The solid wood mantles on this page are between 3" to 12" in thickness. Since we cut the carved wood mantles on this page ourselves they can be made any size necessary. The ends of most of the mantles are reshaped to look natural after each mantle is resized to fit your individual fireplace. Please let us know if you would like us to email pictures of other fireplace mantels from our inventory, and exactly what size you need for your custom mantle. Once you’ve decided to install a solid wood mantel in your home, you need to choose what style the mantle should be. There is a great deal of variety in this area, and it is wise to keep an open mind when looking. The rustic look usually means the wood has a live edge and tends to have defects in the wood such as small cracks, knots, curly or burly. If you want a perfect, defect-free piece they are available but not common. Please let us know how we can help with your special project. |
